Congressman Nick Langworthy of New York's 23rd Congressional District took the podium regarding President Trump's action on the southern border and New York's Greenlight Law while in Owego on the afternoon of Friday, January 31.

The Republican Congressman stressed the importance of securing the border this afternoon, saying it needs to be the number one policy for all elected officials and country immigration policies need to be strengthened.

When it came to the greenlight law, which allows New Yorkers to apply for driver's licenses regardless of immigration status, Langworthy criticized the policy and said governor Kathy Hochul is putting state citizens and law enforcement officers in danger.

"We have allowed those cartels to grow into a behemoth drug and human trafficking operation, and it is going to take tremendous resources to undo the damage of the last four years. The essentially erasing of the southern border that took place to truly take our country back and reinstitute law and order," Langworthy said. "It defies common sense that as a nation, we allowed this to happen."
