Athlete of the Week: Allan Eagles
Allan Eagles is a decisive basketball player.
"I like being aggressive," said Eagles.
It's that aggressiveness that has Eagles as one of the top boys basketball players in Section IV.
"He's become aggressive I think as his confidence has grown," said Seton Catholic head coach Tommy Dempsey. "He's a kid who went from not playing much as a freshman, was more an end of the bench guy. Grew into a role last year by the end of the season (was) one our leading scorers."
As a junior during the 2024-2025 season, Eagles has been a breakout star. His head coach credits his commitment to playing the sport year-round, competing against high-level competition in AAU basketball.
"I would say me getting to the basket has developed a lot more, probably the most during AAU," said Eagles. "I played with Coach Dempsey on NEPA. I developed playing around those guys, the best of the best, playing around them I really got better."
Eagles is averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals per game this season. He has become the star player for a Seton Catholic team that is still unbeaten in STAC play with an 9-0 league record and 12-2 mark overall.
"I mean we wanna go for states, we wanna get a STAC (championship)," said Eagles. "Those are our main goals in mind."
