Mom's House Prepares for the 8th Annual "Soup'er Bowl" Cookoff
Mom's House, a non-profit which offers child care to parents who are acquiring higher education, is preparing for their 8th annual "Soup'er Bowl" Cookout,
The soups will be judged and ranked by the participants.
Categories include healthiest, heartiest, spiciest, and best presentation, and favorite bowl of soup.
Other activities will include a 50/50 raffle, gift basket raffles.
Last year the event had 190 attendees, with Bethany Peake, Executive Director at Mom's House, hoping the event reaches over 200 this year.
"We get to share what we do. We get to share our success stories of the graduates from our programs. Sometimes they get to meet some of our clients at these events. The Soup'er Bowl cookoff really is the only winter fundraiser that we have, so we try to get out there and meet with the community," Peake said.
The event will be on Monday the 27th from 5 to 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Cafe in Vestal, costing 15 dollars for adults, 10 dollars for ages 5-12, and free for anyone under 5 years old.
