The Hometown Heroes Banner committee introduces its second installment of Hometown Heroes Banners in Binghamton.

30 new banners were put up along Front Street between the Bevier Street Bridge and Prospect Ave, and the first ten banners along the bridge were replaced with new materials.

The banners represent veterans from as early as the Civil War to veterans who participated in the more recent global war against terrorism.

The Binghamton Vet Center is at the head of the initiative, which helps honor local veterans and show them they are not alone.

Binghamton Vet Center Veteran Outreach Program Specialist Jason Davis says, "This area is very well known for its support of the veteran community. We have a lot of agencies and individuals that go out of their way to support our local vets. And this is just a great way to kind of bring everyone together and provide a conduit for that and to show that appreciation and give back to the veterans."

If you have any veterans you would like to nominate, you can find more information on their Facebook and the Binghamton Vet Center website.
