Local group Indivisible Binghamton is gearing up to host a human rights march next weekend to show support for people of all backgrounds within the community.

The march will take place on Saturday, January 18th, starting at noon at the peace makers stage next to the main street bridge.

People will then head down Court Street to the church at 42 Chenango Street for the rally where several advocates with speak.

The march is being held in conjunction with the National People's March initiative which takes place in Washington D.C.

It's meant to bring people together to support reproductive freedoms and women's rights, LGBTQ freedoms, refugee and immigrant freedoms, racial freedoms, and all other human rights.

Co-leader of Indivisible Binghamton and Organizer of the March Lori Wahila says"These topics are prominent all over. We just need to stand up and say that we do not want to go back. We don't want to lose the rights that we have attained already, and we want to move forward, not backward. We just want people to know that there are people out there fighting for these rights to keep them, and hopefully, we can do that. "

You can sign up for the march online at action.womensmarch.com or just show up to the event on Saturday.
