After its grand opening in June this year, the UHS Tower marks another milestone this week as it officially opens the sixth and last floor of the building.

The sixth floor is known as the cardiology level and also includes several private patient rooms completing the last of the 120 rooms in the tower.

On the other levels of the tower, there is an MRI department, emergency, neurology department, and a cafe.

The tower also features updated parking for easier access to the new main entrance which is located right off the main street in Johnson City.

Michelle Karedes, Senior Director of Strategic Facility Planning at UHS says, "It is such a great honor and privilege for all of us here to have been involved in the project. And the excitement around each of the openings has been equally as exciting. Certainly getting to the culmination on the last floor was a huge celebration. The staff are really excited. Our patients are really happy with their new environment and we're on our way to good quality health care as well as a good healing environment "
