A Nichols man is facing charges in Tioga County after the sheriff's office says an arrest warrant for his status as a state parole absconder was issued.

According to the sheriff's office, 36-year-old Shane Hildebrandt is charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree and
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree. While Hildebrandt was being arrested on the above warrant, he attempted to flee and was later found with a quantity of methamphetamine.

Hildebrandt was arraigned and released on the above charges, but was held on his parole warrant.
