Two Indicted in Delaware County on Drug and Weapon Charges
Two people are facing a 12-count indictment in Delaware County on drug and weapon charges.
According to the Delaware County District Attorney, Nicholas J. Cartelli of Otego and Taylor J. Church of Bainbridge are accused of possessing heroin, buprenorphine, methamphetamine, cocaine and paraphernalia in the Town of Sidney with the intention of selling the drugs.
Cartelli is accused of two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, where, according to the D.A., it is alleged he possessed a .25-caliber handgun and sawed-off semi-automatic rifle. Both were loaded. It is alleged that Cartelli intended to use the handgun unlawfully, and it is alleged that he intended to use the rifle against another person.
Cartelli also faces additional felonies related to possession of the same guns.
