A Deposit man has pleaded guilty to two counts of Petit Larceny stemming from incidents that occurred between the summer of 2023 and January 2024.

According to the Delaware County District Attorney, 40-year-old Cody Carlson was accused of stealing items from the Dollar General in Deposit in July 2023. The total cost was estimated to be $35.

He was also accused of stealing cans and bottles from a can and bottle redemption business in Deposit in January 2024. The D.A. says the owner noticed missing bags and reviewed security camera footage. The total cost was estimated to be $15.

Carlson was sentenced to two separate one-year conditional discharges. He will have to pay restitution to both businesses and if he violates any of the conditions of his conditional discharge, he faces a re-sentence to two years in jail.

Additionally, he'll also have to provide a DNA sample for the state DNA databank and pay the accompanying fee of $50.
