Walsh Named America East Player of the Week
Sophomore forward Gavin Walsh has been named America East Player of the Week. This is his third weekly honor of his career after taking two Rookie of the Week awards during his freshman season.
In their conference opening win over UMBC on Saturday, Walsh would hit 18 points while also picking up 17 rebounds which made it his sixth double-double of the season which is a league leading state. Saturday's contest would also be Walsh's third game with 17 or more rebounds.
Walsh currently leads the conference in rebounding averaging 10.5 per game and he also ranks second in the country in defensive rebounds at 8.4 per game. As for double-doubles he currently ranks 20th in the nation with four consecutive which is one shy of the school record.
Binghamton now will hit the road as they begin a two game road trip taking on Maine on Thursday and UNH on Saturday.
