An Endicott man has been sentenced to at least 23 years in state prison after he fatally stabbed a woman in June 2023.

According to the Broome County District Attorney, James E. English, Jr. was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison after stabbing Jessica Picciano 31 times, causing her death. Initially in the summer of 2023, Endicott Police responded to 107 N. Arthur Avenue to investigate a suspicious condition at the residence. It was during this investigation when Picciano's body was located.

One day later, English was arrested and charged with Murder in the 2nd degree. He pleaded guilty last October.
