Dave Hogan Recognized By New York Giants As High School Coach of the Year
The New York Giants announced on Monday that Chenango Forks football head coach Dave Hogan has been selected as the 2024 Lou Rettino High School Coach of the Year.
In 17 seasons has head coach, Hogan has gotten the Blue Devils to a 172-23 record, five state titles, and 12 section titles while also coaching five New York State Player of the Year honorees, and being named a New York State Coach of the Year five times.
Most recently Hogan would get the Devils to their 23rd section title overall taking down Waverly 38-35, and falling in the state semi-final to Salamanca which would end their season with a record of 11-2. Both losses coming to teams who played in the NYSPHSAA championship games for their classes in Maine-Endwell and Salamanca.
With Hogan's selection the Chenango Forks football program will receive a $4,000 check from The Giants Foundation and Gatorade. Hogan will also receive a certificate signed by Giants head coach Brian Daboll and will be honored at a dinner following the season. Hogan will also be the Giants' nominee for the NFL's Don Shula NFC High School Coach of the Year Award and will receive $1,000 from the NFL Foundation.
