Police Investigating After Separate Incidents Leave Two Injured Over Weekend
Two people are injured after separate incidents in Binghamton almost 24 hours apart from each other over the weekend.
According to Binghamton Police, on Saturday, January 4th at approximately 3:35 a.m., police responded to 32 Mendelssohn Street for a report of a male with a knife. When they arrived, officers found a 24-year-old male who had several stab wounds to the chest and abdomen sitting in a parked vehicle.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Police say 49-year-old Paul Graham of Binghamton was arrested and charged with Assault in the 1st degree.
Less than 24 hours later, at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, January 5th, police responded to 526 Chenango Street for a report of shots fired. It was determined that a 16-year-old male had been shot in the arm and was being taken to a hospital for treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
An investigation determined that the shooting had occurred inside the residence. 18-year-old Danny Wilkins, Jr. of Binghamton was located a Mason Avenue address and charged with Attempted Murder in the 1st degree.
