PA Man Charged After Threatening Woman With Crossbow, Leading Police on Chase
Binghamton Police say a Pennsylvania man is facing charges after leading police on a vehicle chase on Christmas Day.
According to police, at 7:45 a.m. on December 25th, police responded to the area of 66 Louisa Street for a report of a male pointing a crossbow at a female before forcing the female into a vehicle and fleeing the scene. The vehicle was located on Broad Avenue in the area of East Frederick Street and the driver refused to comply with a traffic stop.
Police pursued the vehicle through the City of Binghamton and the Town of Binghamton and into Pennsylvania. The chase ended when the vehicle became disabled after hitting a tree in Brackney, Pennsylvania.
The driver, 20-year-old Devin Collins of Susquehanna, PA was taken into custody. He was charged with Kidnapping in the 2nd degree, Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree. It was later discovered that the vehicle Collins was operating had previously been reported stolen out of Pennsylvania and he had an active warrant for his arrest out of the Pennsylvania State Police Gibson barracks.
The female victim was taken to a hospital for treatment for facial injuries sustained in the crash.
