100 Years Ago Today is brought to you by Broome County Recycles.

100 years ago today,

Binghamton's meteorologist today announced that we can expect to have a white Christmas this year.

The lake at Recreation Park is being flooded each night to be used for ice skating, and today George F. Johnson offered funds to build a toboggan slide at the park.

In Johnson City last night, twelve hundred young children attended a community Christmas party at the Goodwill Theater.

Finally, Happy Birthday!

On this day 100 years ago, Betty Bayles was born in Harpursville. Betty grew up there, attended Harpursville School where she graduated as valedictorian, and then became a music teacher. Now, she still lives in Harpursville, where today family and friends gathered to celebrate her birthday.

Happy birthday Betty!
