Honoring Late State Trooper By Donating Blood at Kirkwood Blood Drive
A blood drive will be held in honor of a fallen New York State Police trooper on Monday in Kirkwood.
State Police say Five Mile Point Fire Company is holding the drive and you can donate blood in memory of Trooper Christopher Skinner. The drive will be held in the hall from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., located at 16 Crescent Drive, in Kirkwood.
To make an appointment, you can call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter KirkwoodCommunity. This will be the 11th year of this drive.
Trooper Christopher Skinner had been on the state police force for 13 years. He lost his life in 2014 when he was intentionally struck by a vehicle that was traveling over 90 miles per hour while Skinner was conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 81 between Exits 7 and 8 in a construction zone.
