Union Endicott High School Holds Pizza With the Pups to Benefit Animals in Need
Union Endicott High School students prepared canine emergency kits to help dogs in need today at the pizza with pups event in the school's Diversity Cafe.
The kits had water, a leash, dog food, and treats for essential care.
The Animal Care Sanctuary highlighted the event as important leaning experience for students, with it serving as a culmination of teaching about topics like pet adoptions, and animal wellness.
Ellen Feldman, Board President of the Animal Care Sanctuary, attended the event, encouraging students to get involved in the field.
"We have a major focus on education and empathy, because these are the future leaders of our world, of our society, some of the challenges that animals face, you know, trauma, abandonment, abuse, you know, being uprooted, are real issues in our society. And it's a way that, students of all abilities can relate to," Feldman said.
