A Greene man is facing several weapon charges after an investigation into the illegal possession of a firearm.

According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, 30-year-old Dmitri S. Grassi was arrested on December 11th after he sold a fully automatic firearm to an undercover detective. Further investigation determined he possessed and sold a MAC-11 machine pistol/submachine gun with a high-capacity magazine.

The firearm sold by Grassi had partially removed serial numbers.

He was charged with the following:

2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree
1 count of Criminal Sale of a Firearm in the 3rd degree
1 count of Manufacture, Transport, Disposition and Defacement of Weapons (Willful Defacement of a Machine Gun or Firearm)
 
Grassi will appear in the Town of North Norwich Court at a later date.
