Two people and a dog were rescued after they were trapped in the middle of the Susquehanna river earlier this morning in Endicott.
The call came in around 8:45.
The rescue took place just after 10 at the riverbed of the Susquehanna river, with boats being sent off from Grippen park in Endicott and Freihofer's on Castle Gardens road.
The departments were called after word that the two adults were stranded on an island in the river and were in danger due to rising water.
Three fire rescue boats including ones from the Vestal and Endicott fire departments helped rescue the two adults and their dog.
It is believed they were camping out on the island at the time.
