Broome County Undersheriff Sam Davis has graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, according to the office.

The office says Davis was one of 257 law enforcement officers in his class. They completed 11 weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training as part of the 292nd session of the FBI National Academy. Training is provided by FBI Academy instructors, special agents, and other staff with advanced degrees. Many are recognized internationally in their fields.

The FBI National Academy requires participants to have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend. Participants have on average over 20 years of law enforcement experience, and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Davis is now the third member of the Broome County Sheriff's Office to graduate from the Academy. Sheriff Fred Akshar graduated in 2011 and Captain Ben Harting, head of the office's Law Enforcement Division graduated in 2022.
