Firemen were able to rescue six of them by ladders, but one man was seriously injured when he jumped from the fourth floor.
The school at Union Center was closed today for two weeks, as a precaution against a smallpox epidemic.
The South Side Fire Station at Johnson City has been used for the last month as a detention area for people suspected of being exposed to smallpox.
