'Fill The Trolley' Toy Drive Kicks-off this Weekend
Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham will join Foam-It Installation to host a 'Fill the Trolley' toy drive at Rec Park this weekend.
The toy drive will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, in the upper parking lot of Recreation Park, next to the basketball courts.
People are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to the trolley, which foam it installation will then deliver to the Broome County Toys for Tots drive.
Mayor Kraham recommends that toys donated be targeted at children aged 1 to 10.
Kraham said, "We want to make sure that every family has a joyous and really memorable Christmas morning, that kids in our city of Binghamton are able to unwrap presents, are able to get what they need, that they feel like Santa Claus has visited the night before."
The Broome County Toys for Tots program is run by local law enforcement agencies, including the Binghamton Police Department.
Since 1962, the program has collected new toys to help local families in need provide gifts for their children during the holidays. Binghamton Police officers have led the program for the last several years.
