Hochul signs law expanding workers compensation to include work-related stress

New Yorkers will be able to file for workers' compensation benefits for workers suffering from mental illness as a result of their job.
The bill expands coverage to all workers that had previously only been available to first responders.
Hochul has dedicated $1 billion toward improving the state's mental health crisis.
The law will cover specific types of mental injury that results in "extraordinary work-related stress".
