An Otsego County resident is charged in Chenango County after the sheriff's office says $1,000 of merchandise was stolen from a Village of Sherburne business in late November.

According to the office, a larceny complaint was filed by the business after the merchandise was stolen. The office adds that on November 26th, 26-year-old Kayla Van Pelt was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th degree and Conspiracy in the 6th degree.

The office says Van Pelt and two other suspects acted together to steal the merchandise, and more arrests are expected to be made.
