A 30-year-old Endicott man will serve six years in state prison after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Broome County District Attorney's Office.

Following a traffic stop and investigation on June 5, 2024, police found more than half an ounce of fentanyl pills and packaging materials in Joshua Mazyck's vehicle.

Two months later, members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit carried out a narcotics search warrant at Mazyck’s Pine Street apartment in the Village of Endicott. They found more pressed fentanyl pills, a scale and a loaded 9mm Ruger handgun.

Mazyck will also serve 5 years post-release supervision as a second felony.

These cases were investigated by the New York State Police and the Broome County Special Investigations Unit. Senior Assistant District Attorney Joseph Nieto prosecuted these cases for the District Attorney’s Office.
