The Binghamton men's basketball team defeated Lafayette, 82-81, in overtime Sunday afternoon as part of the Lafayette Classic.

The Bearcats led by double digits in the second half before the Leopards mounted a comeback. Lafayette had a chance to win the game in the final seconds but a shot fell short at the buzzer to allow Binghamton to escape with a one-point victory.

Binghamton's Tymu Chenery led all scorers with 21 points while Chris Walker added 20 points. Ben Callahan-Gold chipped in 17 points while Gavin Walsh poured in 15 in the victory. 

Sunday's victory was the second straight overtime win for the Bearcats who improve to 4-6 overall. Binghamton is back in action next Saturday when the Bearcats visit Le Moyne for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
