One person was injured after a fire broke out at a residence on East Main Street in Endicott Saturday night.

According to the Endicott Fire Department, at approximately 6:50 p.m., crews responded to 310 East Main Street for a possible building fire. When they arrived on the scene, they found heavy fire engulfing the rear porch of the three-story building. It was determined the blaze had extended into the second and third floors as well.

While crews worked on the flames on the porch, reports came in of people still inside the building. Multiple people were found inside and were assisted out of the building. One person went to the hospital for treatment for an injury sustained from the fire, but no other injuries were reported and everyone is being assisted by the Red Cross. There is no word on the severity of the injury.

The fire is under investigation by Endicott Police and the Broome County Bureau of Fire Investigation.
