One Dead After Car Versus Pedestrian Crash Monday Evening
One person is dead after a car versus a pedestrian crash Monday evening.
According to Binghamton Police, around 6:50 p.m., police responded to Route 363 South at Frederick Street for a report of a car versus motorcycle crash. When police arrived, a male victim was found in the roadway and pronounced deceased by EMS.
An investigation determined the 39-year-old male was heading west, attempting to walk a bicycle across the highway. Police say the victim was crossing the highway against the green light which the oncoming traffic possessed. The victim was struck by a motor vehicle, which knocked him to the ground, causing other vehicles to strike the victim, according to police.
The victim's identity will not be released at this time, pending notification of the next of kin. This is an on-going investigation.
