A Binghamton man has been sentenced to a dozen years in state prison after he broke into a residence last year.

According to the Broome County District Attorney, 49-year-old Demetrius Armstrong broke into a City of Binghamton residence last September with the intent to steal items and was found inside by the Binghamton Police Department.

In July, Armstrong pleaded guilty to Burglary in the 2nd degree. He was sentenced to 12 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision.
