It's college application month, and students in New York State can apply to any SUNY or CUNY school for free until November.

For the second consecutive year, college application fees will be waived for all students attending New York City schools from October 21 to November 15.

Students from around the state applying as freshmen can apply from November 4 to 15.

Students can submit up to five applications per person to any of the schools.

This effort continues Governor Kathy Hochul's efforts to provide equal opportunity to higher education for New York State youth.

In a statement, Governor Hochul said, "College application month isn’t only about waiving fees — it’s about breaking down financial barriers and opening doors to future opportunities.

We’re empowering students across the state to take the first step toward achieving their educational and career goals while removing the financial obstacles that may deter students from pursuing higher education.”
