A 17-year-old female wanted for attempted murder in connection to a recent shooting has been captured in the City of Binghamton.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, both the office and the U.S. Marshals Regional Task Force learned the location of the 17-year-old.

The female was tracked to locations on Floral Avenue and Chelsea Square in the City of Binghamton.

The Southern Tier SWAT team was deployed and executed a search warrant at a Chelsea Square residence. Here, they were able to take her into custody without incident.

The juvenile was then turned over to City of Binghamton Police for the attempted murder charge. She will then be arraigned and turned over to the Broome County Sheriff's Office.

“Excellent work by our BCSO Warrants Division and the Southern Tier SWAT team for safely locating this individual and bringing her into custody,” said Sheriff Fred Akshar. “My thanks to our colleagues at Binghamton Police and the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force for their partnership in helping remove purveyors of violence from our communities’ streets. Every Broome County resident, no matter where they live, deserves to feel safe. The members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office will continue working with our community and our partners in law enforcement to help ensure that safety.”
