The Endicott Police Department says police are continuing to investigate an incident Thursday afternoon.

The department says while the initial call was reported as a stabbing at the Union-Endicott High School, the investigation determined that was not the case. Police say the incident occurred after school hours near the Gulf gas station and the American Legion. One of the injured victims went to the high school's main entrance to seek help after the incident.

Police add that while they are investigating this incident as a stabbing, it is unknown at this time if a weapon or other object caused injuries to both involved parties. One victim had a hand wound and the other had wounds to the lip and shoulder.

Both were minors, and no arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information is urged to contact police. Out of an abundance of caution and at the request of the school district, Endicott Police and the Broome County Sheriff's Office had extra patrols around the area of the high school Friday morning and will continue to do so throughout the day Friday and as necessary.
