We continue Fox 40's Top 40 Most Impactful Local Sports figures of all time with number 15.

At number 15, we honor Greene's Lura Wilson! Lu, as she was known, was a pioneer for women's athletics in the Southern Tier. As Nancy Bromley, a three-time State Champion head coach with Greene Field Hockey described to me last year, Lura Wilson was a "molder of dreams and an inspiration" and was one of the biggest reasons Greene girls athletics has thrived for so long.

Wilson was a five-time NYS Champion and four-time National Champion. Wilson was the first woman inducted into the Section IV Hall of Fame and is in the National Archery Hall of Fame as well.
