Dozens of Bikers Tour through Binghamton at 17th Annual Binghamton Bridge Pedal
Almost 100 bikers got 10 miles worth of exercise this morning thanks to the 17th Annual Binghamton Bridge Pedal on Saturday, August 10.
The 10-mile bike ride serves as an opportunity for bikers of all levels to get out, exercise, and see what Binghamton has to offer for trail and biking facilities.
The police-escorted ride featured stops with special speakers at MacArthur Park, Kilmer Mansion, the Rod Serling Statue, and the Front Street Trail. Following the main event, all bikers cooled down and refreshed at the Post-Pedal Party at Techworks.
"To see the interest that we get in, people coming out and some of the comments that we get, especially for newcomers, is that they didn't realize certain things were here in the Binghamton area. So it's an opportunity to expose people to facilities," Senior Transportation Planner for the Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study Scott Reigle said. "We have and different unique places that we stop as well. We have a lot here and they continue to be proud of and we have a lot of reasons for people to live here and also to come and visit here."
