Endless Summer Fest Showcases Local Artists While Supporting Mental Health Assoc. of the Southern Tier
A music festival highlighting local talent and raising awareness of mental health is set to kick off for the first time this weekend.
Local artists Edge and Babi Lou are hosting the endless summer fest along with local bars Black Sheep Tavern, Stadium 138, and Craft
It will take place on Washington Street from five to ten p.m., with a DJ playing music starting at noon on July 27.
There will be food and merchandise vendors, as well as live performances from four local artists including Allie Torto, Matthew Cornwell, Grown-ups, and Edge and Babi Lou.
The event is free to attend but a portion of proceeds from vendors and merch sales will go to the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier.
Co-organizer Kim Washington said, "We're doing it to really highlight minority mental health awareness because July is Minority Mental Awareness Month. So we're highlighting that. We are partnered with a local organization( Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier) and we're going to be using some of the proceeds from the event to donate to them."
Co-organizer Edge Jean-Philippe said, "It's really nice to do this event for the area, especially to be able to put on an event that highlights local arts that are growing and flourishing. It's pretty awesome and all the acts are our friends so it's going to be a really cool thing to do."
