People of all ages and ethnicities came together at the American Civic Association in Binghamton today to celebrate while expressing solidarity with Palestine.

The gathering was a collaboration between the aca and pro-Palestinian organizations from the community as well as Binghamton University.

On the festival floor were tables from the leading organizations, plentiful Palestinian cuisine and poetry readings and speeches at the front of the room.

Sumttea Chaudhri, who helped organize the festival, explained the importance of continuing to hold events that keep Palestine in the front of local minds.

"We just want to do things as far as we are from Palestine right now," Chaudhri said. "Our hearts are with the people who are suffering and everything else that's going on there, and we want to do our part. We want to elevate the voices of the people who are in our communities and who have families back home."

Upwards of 200 people are estimated to have attended today's event.
