A Hancock man was arrested and charged after an investigation by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office says he violated his terms of probation.

According to the sheriff's office, the Criminal Investigations Division received a complaint from the county Probation Department in April that a person supervised by the department was suspected of communicating with underage children in a sexual manner. After a months-long investigation, 27-year-old Dylan Brooks was arrested and charged with one count of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The sheriff's office says it is alleged that Brooks violated the terms and conditions of probation by using an unauthorized phone and social media account to engage in conversations with a 16-year-old child. The conversations were sexual in nature, according to the office, and the office adds that Brooks sent indecent photos to the child for his own gratification.

Brooks is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
