Sundae Safari Returns to Ross Park Zoo this Weekend
A chance to explore the zoo while enjoying some sweet treats as Ross Park Zoo welcomes the return of its second annual Sundae Safari this weekend.
The event allows locals to see the exhibits after hours and what the animals are like at night, while of course eating ice cream.
Seven local organizations, including Achieve, Catholic Schools of Broome County, and Mothers and Babies will be serving different animal-themed sundaes throughout the zoo. All funds raised at this event will support animal welfare.
"The first year we had five participating organizations coming up with sundaes and that was a lot of fun and we realized that we wanted to really expand and elevate the event into more of a tasting event where people could vote on, you know, appearance and creativity and obviously taste," Director of Visitor Experience for Ross Park Zoo Evelyn Hale said. "So this year we're really trying to create sundaes that really are just tasting really good."
The event will be taking place on Saturday, July 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
