Binghamton Police say an Endicott man is facing multiple charges after he was found with drugs and a gun in a car in the City of Binghamton Thursday night.

According to police, around 6 p.m., a running, stationary vehicle was spotted near the intersection of State Street and Dennison Avenue, with the driver slumped over the steering wheel. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Lavar A. McDaniel. It was discovered that McDaniel had an active warrant for his arrest for Violation of Felony Probation out of Broome County Court.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9 mm handgun, approximately 3.2 ounces of meth, 6.86 grams of cocaine, 8.2 grams of fentanyl, 6 Oxycodone pills, items used for weighing and packaging narcotics and $500.

In addition to the active warrant, McDaniel was charged with the following:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree
  • 5 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree
  • 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • 2 counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree

McDaniel was arraigned and remanded to the custody of the Broome County Correctional Facility.
