Ahead of the 4th of July, fireworks sales are surging as people stock up for their holiday celebrations.

At Mess's fireworks, there hasn't been a dull moment this week as sales have spiked ahead of the 4th of July holiday.

Seeing thousands of products go out the door, they expect that trend to continue into the weekend.

Andrew Merrell, Manager at Mess's Fireworks says, "It's been busy all week. We actually expect it to be a little bit busier after the fourth this year too, because the fourth is on a Thursday. It kind of gives people two different times they can celebrate."

Carrying bigger fireworks like fountains and mortars all the way down to sparklers, and smoke bombs, there is a wide variety of products to choose from, and that selection brings people back year after year.

"That's like one of my favorite things is seeing people that I've seen five years in a row come back. And then it's also cool meeting new people and making new relationships," said Merrell.

The dedication from the staff makes the shopping experience worthwhile.

"Some of our best things here is our staff is super knowledgeable and super super friendly. We're willing to help you out. If you're spending 50 bucks or a thousand bucks, we can help you no matter what," says Merrell.

Merrell adds that although it can get hectic, giving people the best bang for their buck gets them through it.
