The Binghamton Rumble Ponies would drop their series opener to the Hartford Yard Goats on Monday at Mirabito Stadium in a 6-1 final. 

Throughout the first three innings all eyes were on Rumble Ponies pitcher Tyler Stuart who would be lights out, Stuart would deal 7 strikeouts through the first three innings and finish with 11 total strikeouts through 7.0 innings.

However Stuart and the Rumble Ponies defense would keep it scoreless till the seventh where a pair of hits by Ryan Ritter and Yanquiel Fernandez would get the Yard Goats on base and they would eventually both score courtesy of a sacrifice fly Warming Bernabel and an RBI single by Sterlin Thompson.

Binghamton would respond in the bottom half and cut the lead in half as JT Schwartz would homer for his fourth on the year, but Hartford would come storming back in the eighth inning.

Fernandez would his a two run shot to left field to go up 4-1 before Thompson and Bladimir Restituyo would have back to back RBI's to run away with the contest.

Binghamton falls to 2-6 on the second half of the season, the Rumble Ponies will play two more games at home against Hartford on Tuesday and Wednesday before making the trip to Connecticut to wrap up the final three games of the series.
