For the first time, Comic-Con has been brought to Binghamton.

Fat cat comics from Johnson City led in organizing the "Bing Bang Comic and Toy Show" at American Legion Post 82 in Binghamton.

30 vendors including several local artists brought their goods and creations to the con, with over 300 locals paying a visit during the operating hours.

Serving on the organizing committee was Jared Aiosa, who spoke on the strong response that the community gave to the freshman event.

I'm very proud of the area to be able to really came out. They really showed up and they said, 'yeah, we love comics. We love this fun pop culture. This is our culture.' And so whether it's bookworm culture or geek culture or nerd culture, they said, 'yes, we want this.'"

Organizers say that plans for more cons are already underway for later this year.
