Ryan Clifford would tally his ninth homer of the season in game two of the double-header against the Portland Sea Dogs as Binghamton would win 1-0 in game two after losing in game one 2-0 to the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

Game 1:

Portland would give Binghamton trouble in the second inning where the Sea Dogs would get runners on the corners with Tyler Miller singling and advancing Eddinson Paulino to third. Shortly after, Paulino would steal home to get Portland on the board. Binghamton would allow the second and final run an inning later where Marcelo Mayer would score from third base after a fly out by Kristian Campbell. Rumble Ponies pitcher Nolan McLean would pick up his fifth loss of the season after going 5.0 innings allowing two runs while also dealing five strikeouts.

 

Game 2:

Game 2 would feature a defensive stalemate where both sides would manage to get on base without scoring numerous times throughout the first few innings, Portland would have six hits in the 1-0 loss compared to Binghamton's four. Clifford would hit his ninth homer on the year to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning to get Binghamton the only run of game two. Justin Jarvis would pitch most of the contest going 4.2 innings and dealing five strikeouts, after that three different pitchers would be brought in striking out two batters through the 2.1 innings.

 

Binghamton will continue their series with Portland on Saturday at 6:07 P.M. at Mirabito Stadium.
