Binghamton Man Sentenced to State Prison on Drug Charge

A Binghamton man is sentenced to time in state prison on a drug charge.
According to the Broome County District Attorney, Joseph Swarts was sentenced to 4.5 years in state prison and two years of post-release supervision on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree.
The D.A. adds that in May 2023, Swarts was found in possession of more than one ounce of methamphetamine following a traffic stop and investigation by the Binghamton Police Department Community Response Team.
