Greene Man Sentenced to State Prison on Drug Charge After Traffic Stop in Broome

A Greene man has been sentenced to state prison after being found with methamphetamine during a traffic stop last fall in Broome County.
According to the Broome County District Attorney, Martin Matias was sentenced to eight years in state prison and three years of post-release supervision on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree. In October 2023, a traffic stop was conducted on Matias for improper plates. It was discovered that Matias was in possession of approximately 6 ounces of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and packaging materials.
Matias admitted to possessing the methamphetamine with the intent to sell it.
