A Chenango Forks man is facing charges out of Tioga County following a traffic stop in Nichols on Saturday, May 4th.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, Matthew J. Ortloff was stopped on State Route 17. During the stop, it was discovered that Ortloff possessed a loaded handgun and meth.

Ortloff was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd and 3rd degrees and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree. He was remanded to Tioga County Jail on $10,000 cash bail/$20,000 bond.

Ortloff is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
