Binghamton Native Alyssa Crosby Makes it to Knockout Round on The Voice
Alyssa Crosby first auditioned for the voice eight years ago but she didn't receive a callback.
That didn't stop her though and after auditioning a few more times, she finally made it past the initial audition process and onto the show this year.
"If it's something that makes you happy and that moves you and inspires, you don't ever stop fighting for it because you're going to have a lot of people in your life that don't believe in you and the only thing that matters is you believe in yourself," said Crosby.
She sang her rendition of 'Hand in My Pocket' by Alanis Morissette for her blind audition in front of the judges.
Crosby made it to the knockout rounds, right before the live shows, before her experience came to an end.
She says the opportunity gave her an invaluable experience.
"It was just an incredible experience working with Reba, working with chance. They were amazing mentors, and I learned so much and it gave me so much confidence in myself and my music and my performance. You know, I really learned a lot about who I was and what I wanted to do with my voice and with performing," said Crosby.
As for her future plans, she said her time on the show has opened up some new doors on her journey.
She said, "I'm saying yes to everything possible. I'm trying to make my own path. I'm writing music, I'm going to put out an album. I'm pushing and pushing and pushing and I'm just going to keep fighting until something I mean, amazing things have already happened, so I just, I'm ready for the next amazing thing to happen."
