SUNY Broome Hosts the 13th Annual Southern Tier Robotics Competition in partnership with Broome-Tioga BOCES.

Students were tasked with designing robots to compete effectively in different trials against other schools.

Challenges included gladiator-style robot battles, completing a maze autonomously, and moving objects around with forklift attachments.

Over 180 students from 14 area schools attended the competition today.

The challenges serve as a fun way to get kids interested in STEM, while also learning about programming, coding, and engineering robotics.

Students representing Owego took home this year's grand prize at the competition.
