An Owego woman is being charged with DWI after a wrong-way crash lands her and another person in the hospital.

According to New York State Police, the crash occurred just after 2:30 a.m. on State Highway 17 eastbound near Exit 64 in the Village of Owego.

 

Police say Kimberly S. Ney of Owego was traveling west in the eastbound lane when she hit Elias J. Hage of Binghamton head-on. Both needed to be extricated from their vehicles, according to the Owego Fire Department.

 

Hage was taken to Wilson, while Ney was taken to Robert Packer, where she was charged with DWI.

The highway was reopened by 4:50 a.m.
