Shortly after midnight on Saturday, the Endicott Police Department responded to Fillmore Avenue where they found a man with a gunshot wound. The man was treated on-scene by Endicott Fire-EMS and Union Volunteer Emergency Squad members. He was taken to Wilson Hospital where he later died.

During the investigation, officers learned the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. The suspect was later identified as 49-year-old Antoine C. Loup Jr. He was taken into custody just after 2 a.m.

Loup has been charged with Murder in the 2nd degree and taken to Broome County Centralized Arraignment Part.

Police believe the victim and suspect were known to each other and this was not a random shooting. They also said this is unrelated to a shooting death on Adams Avenue on the first.

The investigation is ongoing.
